Week 3 Recap: Jersey Icons Stay Perfect as Clutch City and Court Kings Earn First Wins

Week 3 Recap: Jersey Icons Stay Perfect as Clutch City and Court Kings Earn First Wins

Jersey Icons move to 3-0, Heat Check suffers its first loss, and the league standings tighten after another competitive Thursday night at Hoop Heaven.

WHIPPANY, NJ — Three weeks into the Fall 2026 Citrus Men’s Basketball League season, the competition is heating up, and the standings are starting to take shape.

Week 3 delivered a little bit of everything: an undefeated team continuing its winning streak, a major upset, and two teams finally breaking into the win column. While Jersey Icons remained the league’s only unbeaten squad, Clutch City and Court Kings made statements of their own, proving that no team can be overlooked.

With four regular-season games remaining for each team, the race toward the playoffs is officially getting interesting.

Jersey Icons Stay Perfect With 61–51 Victory Over TNR

Final: Jersey Icons 61 | TNR 51

The Jersey Icons continue to establish themselves as the team to beat, improving to 3-0 with a convincing 61–51 victory over TNR.

While the Icons have relied on explosive scoring performances in previous weeks, this victory was built around rebounding, defensive pressure, and contributions throughout the lineup.

Ryan Curran dominated the glass, pulling down an impressive 14 rebounds to help control possessions. Matt Taylor delivered another all-around performance, finishing with 12 points, four rebounds, two assists, and four steals. LaComb Antoine contributed nine points as the Icons maintained their advantage.

TNR's Michael Abdul-Qawi did everything he could to keep his team in the game, pouring in a game-high 26 points. However, his offensive production wasn't enough to overcome Jersey Icons' balanced attack.

For TNR, the early season has taken a frustrating turn. After opening with a dominant victory over Court Kings, the team has now dropped two consecutive games and sits at 1-2.

With a roster capable of competing with anyone in the league, TNR must find a way to regain its rhythm, improve its consistency, and turn individual performances into team victories.

The takeaway: Jersey Icons are finding different ways to win, while TNR needs to regroup before its early-season struggles become a bigger problem.

Clutch City Shocks Heat Check, 51–47, for First Win of the Season

Final: Clutch City 51 | Heat Check 47

UPSET ALERT!

After dropping its first two games, Clutch City entered Week 3 looking for a breakthrough. Standing in its way was an undefeated Heat Check squad that had looked like one of the league's strongest teams.

Clutch City responded with its biggest performance of the season, knocking off Heat Check 51–47 and handing the previously unbeaten team its first loss.

Glenn Allen led Clutch City with 17 points, including three shots from beyond the arc. Tony Boyd delivered a powerful double-double, recording 12 points and 12 rebounds while adding three blocked shots.

Boyd's presence in the paint and Allen's offensive production helped Clutch City secure the four-point victory.

Heat Check's Clarence Josiah was outstanding despite the loss, scoring a game-high 24 points, connecting on six three-pointers, and recording four steals. Bryan Campbell, who entered Week 3 as one of the league's leading scorers, added 10 points.

But Clutch City found a way to limit Heat Check's overall offensive production and hold on for the win.

The victory moves Clutch City to 1-2 and gives the team a much-needed confidence boost heading into the second half of the regular season.

Heat Check falls to 2-1, setting up an interesting battle near the top of the standings.

The takeaway: Clutch City proved it can compete with the league's best, and Heat Check learned that every opponent presents a serious challenge.

Court Kings Break Through With 70–66 Win Over Primetime

Final: Court Kings 70 | Primetime 66

Court Kings finally got the result they had been searching for, defeating Primetime 70–66 in a competitive matchup that came down to just four points.

After suffering back-to-back losses to open the season, including a heartbreaking two-point defeat against Jersey Icons in Week 2, Court Kings showed resilience and earned its first victory.

Demond Cook led the charge with 18 points and eight rebounds, providing a strong presence on both ends of the floor.

Tony Johnson continued his consistent play with 14 points, while Anwar Mangum matched that total and added eight rebounds.

Primetime had its own standout performances.

Anthony Obery led all scorers with 21 points, while Everett White III delivered 14 points and six assists, helping keep Primetime within striking distance.

However, Primetime faced an additional challenge when Kevin Brown, one of the team's key offensive contributors, arrived late and was ejected early.

Brown's absence left Primetime without an important scoring option as it attempted to close the gap.

If Primetime hopes to build momentum moving forward, maintaining composure and having its key players available throughout games will be essential.

Court Kings improves to 1-2, while Primetime falls to 1-2.

The takeaway: Court Kings showed the resilience needed to bounce back from a difficult start, while Primetime must find greater consistency and discipline to compete down the stretch.
